This motor is designed for high EFFICIENCY and REDUCED HEAT output.

This model offers sensored capability while maintaining the characteristics that made earlier versions popular. It is suitable for 1/8 and 1/7 scale vehicles up to 20 lbs operating on 6s to 8s LiPo. It is also a strong option for users seeking a reliable, high torque motor for demanding 8s applications for their 1/8 scale vehicle. Operating modes include sensored and an ULTRA EFFICIENT sensorless operation.

  • Monitor motor temperatures closely. Exceeding 180°F can cause permanent magnet damage.
  • Do not use motor screws longer than 5 mm. Longer screws may contact internal windings.
Application Guidelines:

This model features a water resistant design. The sensor board is coated with silicone conformal coating to help protect against moisture, but the sensor connections themselves are not water resistant. Use dielectric grease as needed and perform routine maintenance after exposure to water.

SMARTSENSE uses the motor’s sensors during startup to provide smooth launches, strong low speed torque, and consistent drivability. After the motor reaches speed, the system transitions to a high efficiency sensorless mode. Since load conditions change throughout a run, electronic timing automatically adjusts to support both performance and efficiency. Mechanical timing alone cannot adapt in this way.
